It’s officially autumn, which means there is no shortage of festivals, fundraisers, or fun runs to attend this month. Whether you’re looking for date night ideas or Halloween-themed fun, here are our top picks of can’t-miss events happening this October.

Through October 30, 2022: Cheekwood Harvest

There’s no better way to celebrate the start of fall in Nashville than at Cheekwood Harvest. Stroll through the gardens and witness the beauty of changing leaves on oaks, maples, dogwoods, and many other trees. The event also includes the beloved pumpkin village, a beer garden, the annual Halloween Pooch Party, and more. Entry is included with garden admission.

Through Early November 2022: BeetleBar Pop-Up

Dream Nashville’s Parlour Bar is transforming into something strange and unusual. This Beetlejuice-themed pop-up bar offers a menu of signature cocktails and food alongside decor inspired by the famous Tim Burton film. Standout items include Beetle Juice, Knock Three Times, Lydia’s Squid Ink Pasta, and more. The bar opens at 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday and noon Friday through Sunday.

October 1, 2, 7 – 9, 14 – 16, 21 – 23, and 28 – 30, 2022: Stephens Valley Fall Home Tour & Festival

The Stephens Valley Fall Home Tour allows prospective homeowners to see what life is really like in this one-of-a-kind community. Featuring homes from Celebration Homes, DeFatta Custom Homes, Legend Homes, Rochford Realty and Construction, and Sipple Homes, the event invites future neighbors to see a sneak peek of their dream home. The fun kicks off on Saturday, October 1, with the community’s annual Fall

October 4, 2022: Taste of West Nashville

Hosted at Fat Bottom Brewing Co., Taste of West Nashville provides samples from some of the city’s best restaurants, such as Avo, Marigold Gourmet Popcorn, Punk Wok, 615Chutney, and many more. The event also includes live music and a silent auction, and proceeds benefit Dream Streets, a nonprofit that protects and empowers individuals living in distress. Tickets are $40, and the event begins at 5:30 p.m.

October 6, 2022: Whiskey, Wine, and Cider Festival

Head to The Bedford to kick off Breast Cancer Awareness Month at the Whiskey, Wine, and Cider Festival. In addition to over 20 samples of whiskey, wine, and cider, attendees can enjoy appetizers and receive a complimentary tasting glass. General admission tickets are $75, and proceeds benefit the Tennessee Breast Cancer Coalition’s Emergency Access Fund, which helps breast cancer patients with mortgage or rent, utilities, and insurance premiums. The event begins at 5:30 p.m.

October 6 – 9, 2022: Cinderella

The Nashville Ballet kicks off its 2022-23 season with performances of Cinderella. The production includes original choreography by Artistic Director Paul Vasterling, a youth cast of School of Nashville Ballet students and community partners, and a classical score performed by the Nashville Symphony. Tickets start at $35, and performances take place at the Polk Theater.

October 7, 2022: Reese Witherspoon: Busy Betty

Join Reese Witherspoon as she celebrates the release of her book Busy Betty at Andrew Jackson Hall. Reese is joined in conversation by The Home Edit founders Clea Shearer and Joanna Teplin. Tickets start at $29.75 and include a copy of Reese’s book. The event begins at 6 p.m.

October 7 – 9, 2022: 44th Annual Fall Tennessee Craft Fair

Shop pieces handcrafted by artisans who honor the rich history and tradition of Tennessee Craft during this three-day event at Centennial Park. Attendees can peruse everything from jewelry to clay pieces, leather goods, paintings, and more. The juried fair also includes food vendors, family-friendly activities, and live demonstrations from artisans. The event is free and open to the public. Event hours are Friday and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

October 8, 2022: Fangtastic 5K

The Nashville Predators are kicking off the 2022-23 season with the Fangtastic 5K. The 3.1-mile course weaves through downtown Nashville, beginning and ending at Bridgestone Arena. Registration fees start at $55 and increase after Wednesday, October 5. Participants receive one free ticket to a Nashville Predators game on Tuesday, October 18, or Tuesday, November 15, a commemorative shirt, a finisher’s medal, and a drink ticket that can be redeemed at Assembly Food Hall. The race begins at 7 a.m.

October 8 & 9, 2022: Sara Sells October Warehouse Sale

Sara Sells is a unique once-a-month shopping event where you can find sofas, dining tables, bedroom furniture, lighting, home decor, and more up to 60% off retail pricing. The best part? You can take everything home with you on sale day! Sara Sells also offers alternate pick-up days and local delivery. The in-person sale takes place from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, October 8, and the online sale runs from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday, October 9.

October 8 – 23, 2022: Pinnacle Financial Partners’ Parade of Homes

Tour six multi-million dollar homes at Pinnacle Financial Partners’ Parade of Homes to find inspiration for decorating or remodeling your own house. Homes are built by Middle Tennessee’s top custom builders and decorated by some of the most esteemed interior designers! Tickets are $20 and sold daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Homes close at 8 p.m. and are located throughout Brentwood’s Rosebrook community.

October 12 & 26, 2022: The Great Southern Thanksgiving Cooking Classes

Anzie Blue’s Chef Star Maye is slated to host a series of cooking classes in October and November. The theme is “The Great Southern Thanksgiving,” and each class highlight up to two dishes. Tickets are $50 each and include one free cocktail and light bites.

October 13, 2022: BOOze at the Zoo

Put on your best Halloween costume and head to the Nashville Zoo to celebrate the start of spooky season with unlimited beer and cocktail samples, trick-or-treating, and live music. Plus, fuel up at local food trucks, including The Grilled Cheeserie, M.L. Rose, Steaming Goat, and more. The event begins at 6:30 p.m., and general admission tickets are $74 for zoo members and $79 for non-members.

October 15, 2022: Dog Day Festival

Grab your dog and head to Nashville Humane Association’s Dog Day Festival at Centennial Park. The event includes a costume contest, live music, a beverage garden, a doggie fun zone, and more. The fun begins at 10 a.m., and general admission tickets are $8 in advance and $10 at the door. VIP packages are also available.

October 19, 2022: Rally In The Round

Rally In The Round, a songwriters’ night benefitting the Rally Foundation for Childhood Cancer Research, takes place at City Winery Nashville. This year’s Honorary Chair is John Bettis, a member of the Songwriters Hall of Fame, and featured songwriters include Craig Campbell and Rivers Rutherford. Tickets are $200, and the event begins at 6 p.m.
