There are almost 100 people moving to Nashville every single day! Easy to see why – Nashville was ranked #15 Best Places to Live by U.S. News and the #4 Best Place for Starting a Business by Inc. Magazine in 2019. There are numerous activities, events, and attractions that make Music City such a desirable place to live for all age groups. If you’re wondering what’s drawing everyone to Music City or if you’re considering making the move yourself, I’ve complied an inclusive list of why people are Relocating to Nashville. Let’s get moving!

1. Booming Economy

Forbes listed Nashville #15 for Best Places for Business and Careers! With Nashville being the center for tourism, health care, education, music, banking, and transportation, it’s easy to see why. Within the past 2 years, huge corporations such as Amazon, Alliance Bernstein, Pilot, Bridgestone Americas, EY, and Mitsubishi have also announced they are either starting new headquarters or adding new jobs in the Nashville area. 

2. Affordable Housing

For a big city, Nashville is still considered affordable compared to other big cities around the US! The median household income in 2019 was $66,630 with the median home price of $369,000. Not to mention, Tennessee is one of the few states that DOES NOT have a state income tax!! Compared to other major cities such as Austin, LA, New York, Atlanta, and Charlotte, Nashville still has the lowest property tax rate.

Calling all foodies! Nashville has a top-notch food and drink scene that is far from basic. USA Today named Nashville #3 BEST Local Food Scene (also not to mention the birthplace of hot chicken). You’ll find a combination of chef-driven (even celebrity) restaurants all the way to classic dining sports offering up hot chicken, BBQ, farm-to-table spots and meat & threes. There is always something fun going on in Nashville. We call Nashville “Music City” for a reason and it’s one of the top reasons people are moving to Nashville! There is no shortage of free music here and you’ll find a variety of genres. With numerous record labels based in Nashville, many musicians move to the city to start their music career, which provides a steady supply of live music at restaurants around the city and fun free events like Live on The Green, CMA Fest, and Bonnaroo.
