As we approach the end of summer, we eagerly embrace the remaining weeks, seeking to make the most of this season’s delights. With a plethora of local events, including outdoor festivals, movie screenings, and live music, August promises to be a month filled with unforgettable experiences. Don’t miss out on these fantastic happenings in Nashville!

August 4, 2023: Melka Winemaker Dinner

Join Chef Mark Vuckovich at The Westin for a carefully curated five-course dinner. Dishes include pan-seared halibut, maple leaf duck breast, grilled New York strip, and more. Plus, each course is paired with a delicious wine. The event kicks off at 6:30 p.m., and tickets are $150.

August 4 – 6, 2023: Big Machine Music City Grand Prix

The Big Machine Music City Grand Prix returns to Nashville for a three-day event featuring courses that take racers by Nissan Stadium and over the Korean War Veterans Memorial Bridge. The event also includes a handful of musical performances by artists like Gavin Degraw, Tiera Kennedy, Megan Moroney, Flo Rida, and more. Single-day tickets begin at $39, and three-day general admission tickets start at $139.

August 5, 2023: An Evening at NunaVeda Greenhouse

Indulge in a unique and enchanting dining experience as NunaVeda Greenhouse partners with BAMFoods Catering to bring you an extraordinary dinner. Immerse yourself in the beauty of nature and the culinary arts as you dine next to a breathtaking greenhouse. The evening also includes live music from Pat McLaughlin. Tickets are $135, and the fun begins at 6 p.m. (Note: This is a 21-and-up event.)

August 5, 2023: Aug-tober Fest with the Nashville Sounds

Join the Nashville Sounds for Aug-tober Fest at First Horizon Park! The Sounds are slated to wear new powder blue Nashville Brewskis jerseys, and the event features live polka music. Plus, the first 1,000 fans can take home a Sounds cooler sling perfect for your favorite six-pack. Tickets start at $10 and are available HERE. Gates open at 5:15 p.m., and the first pitch is at 6:35 p.m.

August 11, 2023: Nashville Predators Craft Beer Festival

Get out of the summer heat and join the Nashville Predators for craft brews, food, games, and entertainment at Bridgestone Arena. General admission tickets are $75, and proceeds benefit the Preds Foundation, which supports Middle Tennessee nonprofit groups and programs in the community. The fun begins at 6:30 p.m. (Note: Designated driver tickets are also available.)

August 11, 2023: Gimme Gimme Disco

Calling all dancing queens, kings, and everyone in between! Prepare to boogie because Gimme Gimme Disco returns for another groovy get-down featuring the best of ‘70s and ‘80s dance classics. The event begins at 10 p.m., and tickets start at $15. (Note: This is a 21-and-up event.)

August 11 & 12, 2023: 20th Annual Tomato Art Fest

East Nashville’s Tomato Art Fest returns to the Five Points neighborhood! The festival is free to attend and includes music, art, food, costumes, shopping, and more. Featured events include the Bloody Mary Garden Party, Tomato Art Show, a home decorating contest, and the “Push, Pull, and Wear” Parade.

August 13, 2023: The Pink Bride Wedding Show

Calling all brides-to-be! The Pink Bride Wedding Show heads to the Nashville Fairgrounds on Sunday, August 13. The event includes some of the best professionals in the wedding industry, all under one roof. Tickets are $2.99 for brides-to-be and their guests, while regular admission is $15. Event hours are noon to 4 p.m.

August 13, 2023: Beatrix Potter Family Tea Party

Join the Frist Art Museum for a tea party celebrating the exhibition Beatrix Potter: Drawn to Nature. Participants can enjoy a catered afternoon tea along with an introduction to tea history and etiquette. Admission is $35 for museum members and $40 for non-members. The event runs from 2:30 p.m. to 4 p.m.

August 15, 2023: Ferragosto at The Joseph – An Italian Summer Celebration

Acclaimed Chef Tony Mantuano and Cathy Mantuano host the inaugural Ferragosto at The Joseph, inspired by the Italian holiday. The evening includes food, drinks, live music, and rooftop fun. Tickets are $150 and include two drink tickets and a dinner of tray-passed antipasti and Italian specialties. The fun kicks off at 5 p.m., and VIP upgrades are also available.

August 16, 2023: Miel’s Harvest Dinner

Join Miel as the restaurant hosts its eighth-annual celebration of summer vegetables on Wednesday, August 16. This prix fixe meal includes “a feast from the fields,” highlighting local farmers. The event begins at 6 p.m., and registration starts at $85.

August 17 – 26, 2023: Tennessee State Fair

The 2023 Tennessee State Fair once again heads to the James E. Ward Agricultural Center in Lebanon, TN. The family-friendly event includes fair rides, barrel racing, cooking demonstrations, livestock shows, and more. Gates open at 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. on Saturday, and noon on Sunday. Fair admission is $12 for adults, $6 for children (ages 6 to 12), and kids under 5 are free. Season tickets are also available.

August 19, 2023: Black Arts Bash

Head to Cheekwood Estate & Gardens to celebrate talented Black artists. From 9 a.m. to 10 p.m., attendees can enjoy music, dancing, storytelling, spoken word, and more. Performers include the Jovan Quallo Quintet, The McCrary Sisters, Sunny Dada & Afrokokoroot, Charles “Wigg” Walker, and Brassville. Other offerings include a community quilt activity, story time, children’s activities, and more. Entry to the event is included with general admission tickets.

August 19, 2023: Titans Foundation 5K

Presented by SeatGeek, the Titans Foundation 5K is a one-of-a-kind racing event that concludes on the 50-yard line at Nissan Stadium. Registration starts at $60 and includes a commemorative t-shirt and a ticket to a Titans game on Sunday, December 17, or Sunday, December 24. The race begins at 8:30 a.m.

August 19, 2023: Star Wars Night with the Nashville Sounds

It’s Star Wars Night at First Horizon Park! Join the Nashville Sounds for character appearances, a lightsaber giveaway, and specialty jerseys that benefit CreatiVets. Star Wars costumes are encouraged, and the first 2,000 fans can take home their own lightsaber. Be sure to arrive early when gates open at 5:15 p.m. to enjoy all the activities and live music. Tickets are available now and start at $10.

August 20, 2023: Jazz on the Cumberland

Through October, Jazz on the Cumberland is a monthly event that hosts some of the best local, regional, and national jazz artists. Bring your favorite blanket or lawn chair and listen to live music as you enjoy a variety of food trucks, concessions, and vendors. The free event runs from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.

August 25, 2023: Way Late Play Late: Weird Science

Adventure Science Center’s next Way Late Play Date is your chance to explore weird, wacky, and wonderful science and get answers to all your burning science questions. Guests can enjoy expert-guided experiments and collaborations while learning some jaw-dropping scientific factoids. The fun begins at 7 p.m., and tickets can be purchased HERE.
